The national champion team, composed of Tomás Melo Gouveia, Vítor Lopes and Gonçalo Teodoro, came just two strokes behind the leader, RCF La Boulie, finishing with 141 strokes, one under par on the course, the Portuguese Golf Federation said.

The French team RCF La Boulie won with 139, while the Galway Golf Club from Ireland came second with 140.

Twenty-five clubs took part in the competition.

Individually, the national amateur champion Tomás Melo Gouveia is the best Portuguese player coming fifth out of the 75 players on the course.
