According to the Ministry of Finance: "As part of the 2022 IRS campaign on income earned in 2021, the Tax and Customs Authority (AT) has reimbursed around €454 million to date".

According to the information available at the time of going to press, so far, almost 2.3 million IRS statements have been submitted by taxpayers, 44 percent of which were submitted through the Automatic IRS and 56 percent manually.

Of the declarations delivered, more than 870,000 (about 38 percent of the total) were settled, of which 560,000 correspond to reimbursements.

Around 85,000 collection notes were also issued, totalling around €35 million, the remaining being void (no refund or collection note).

The deadline for taxpayers to submit the annual IRS return ends on June 30.
