"Beekeepers must make the annual declaration of the existence of apiaries, from 01 to 30 September 2022", reads a note released by the Directorate-General for Food and Veterinary (DGAV).

If they do not present the declaration of the apiaries (set of breeding hives), during this period, they are subject to a fine that may vary between 100 euros and 3,740 euros or 44,890 euros.

The declaration can be delivered through the portal of the Institute for Financing of Agriculture and Fisheries (IFAP) or at the Directorate of Food and Veterinary Services of the Region, as well as in the producer organizations registered for this purpose.

Beekeepers must provide the approximate geographic coordinates of the apiaries.
