Compared to 2021, the brands that recorded the highest
percentage growth in Portugal were Cupra (278.3%), Maserati (210.5%) and AlfaRomeo (177.6%). The total number of each make of car that was registered
throughout the year was Cupra (1,218 units), Maserati (59) and Alfa Romeo (186).
Looking just at the month of September, Maserati had impressive
numbers in Portugal, with 11 cars sold, which represents an increase of 450% in
relation to the previous year. Cupra also registered more than 400% in units
registered when compared to last year, while Fiat with 1,002 cars registered a
growth of 296% compared to September 2021.
Of the brands that sold the most units, only Peugeot
surpassed the 10,000 barrier. The French brand sold 12,718 cars, ahead of
Mercedes-Benz (8,639) and Renault (8,221).
Hmmm, somehow I expected a proper top 10 list of cars sold in Portugal! Like those that are published in the UK, listing the actual cars sold the most, not just the brand (Corsa #1 in UK last year I think).

The article is fine as it is , not sure the comment comparing to how the UK does it adds any value, as it is a Portuguese report for Portugal, what makes the UK reporting method the standard for the rest of us.

i would agree with other comments that a proper top ten list would provide more accurate and, perhaps, helpful information about the automobile scene in portugal;furthermore, the accuracy of the selection seems debatable as other sites have included volvo and volkswagen in their choices. perhaps a bit more research is in order?

Similar to what others said, this article seems pretty meaningless and the figures don't even make sense either. "Maserati had impressive numbers in Portugal, with 11 cars sold, which represents an increase of 450%" so that means Maserati sold 2.44 cars last year then? Good luck to whoever got 0.44 of a car!

Totally misleading article. If you actually look at the cars by make actually on the road it's totally different. The article shows increase in percentage of new cars since the previous period. Th most cars by make on the road is probably Renault mainly ex car hires, Dacia the most affordable new car.

@John Smith, no they sold 2 cars exactly, as the INCREASE is 450%, so 9 more, resulting in 11 in total the following year. You can't divide 11 by 4.5 as you have done, you need to add 1 to the figure first. Amazing how many statistically illiterate people there are.
