“No new confirmed cases have been reported in Portugal since
October 21”, totalling 944 since May 3, when the presence of the virus was
detected in the country, with laboratory confirmation of five cases of human
infection with the Monkeypox virus (VMPX).
The health authority states in a note published on the
website that, “given the decrease in the number of new reported cases, as well
as the fact that the outbreak is apparently in a phase of slowing down”, the
weekly report on the VMPX will now be biweekly, “it may be readjusted according
to the evolution of the outbreak”.
