1,000 million euros to be invested in Pingo Doce

The president of the Jerónimo Martins Group, Pedro Soares dos Santos, announced today that 1,000 million euros will be invested in Pingo Doce over the next three years.

The manager said that the investment in Poland is 2.5 million euros over five years and that in Colombia is 1,000 million to five years.

"I will spend 1,000 million euros on Ara [Colombian supermarket chain] over the next five years. I will spend EUR 2.5 million in Poland" also over the next five years.

In the case of the Portuguese supermarket chain Pingo Doce, the official stressed that the investment is 1,000 million euros over three years.

"And an investment of 150 million euros per year will be made in agribusiness", he added.

Jerónimo Martins' profit rose 27.5% last year, compared to 2021, to 590 million euros.

Perhaps it would be better if Pingo Doce would properly stock their current stores. Our local Pingo closed for a year to expand the building. However their selection of products has decreased, from a smaller vegetable section and even of cleaning supplies.
