This step in relation to the TAP privatization process was conveyed by António Costa in the initial speech he gave in the parliamentary debate on Chega's motion of censure in the Government.
In the final part of his intervention, the Prime Minister referred to the current economic and financial situation of the national air carrier.
“As the European Commission recognizes, we are implementing the restructuring plan successfully and I can confirm that, next week, we will approve the diploma that establishes the framework for the privatization of TAP, defending the company and the interests of Portugal and the Portuguese”, declared António Costa.
TAP should be 100% private because it can be very profitable with the right management. Unfortunately it fails to explore competitive routes out of airports other than congested Lisbon, like Faro, Porto and Funchal. A private ownership won't let this continue, I don't believe it's the opposite.
