You may suspect that they are an idea made up by humans in order to feel more at home in the universe. It is worth remembering that there are many things in our lives that exist although we can’t see them. Like electricity, or oxygen. Yet we can see the effect of them. We usually don’t see angels, but the effects of their presence are all around us.

The birth of an idea in a person’s mind, where does it come from? You could say it comes from universal intelligence, but angels are messengers who bring this intelligence to us. All the great works of past civilisations and the advances of science and technology started with an inspired idea. And I suggest that behind such inspired ideas could be angelic intelligences.

The traditional picture of angels with wings is just the way that some sensitive people have seen them. But you do not need to see an angel to feel them and their presence. They are present at all our major life events. They are there for every birth, marriage and death. If you have been present at the birth of a child or the death of a loved one you will know that there can be a strong spiritual energy present at such times. Angelic intelligences are always there to welcome and support the soul on its journey.

Loving presence

The presence of angels in our daily lives usually manifests as a loving presence behind the scenes, assisting through their energy and their illumination, and protecting us from harm. However, at certain times they can break through the curtain of the unseen, and manifest more actively in our lives by bringing us creative ideas that inspire us. Angels have a great feeling for beauty. They delight in colour and harmony. They are also masters of communication. They love to weave a beautiful tapestry with words in any language, words that express loveliness in all its forms.

If you would like to open up to angelic inspiration, first of all, find a medium that the angels can work on with you. This does not have to be one of the traditional arts like music, poetry or painting, although it could be. Angels can also inspire you to sew, cook, garden, knit, or play with your children. They can inspire you to decorate your home, look after someone with love, and care for your pets with joy and appreciation. They can inspire you to approach old problems in a new way and have difficult conversations with a new lightness of touch.

When you have identified an area where you would like to receive assistance and inspiration, you can make a sincere request to the angels who are always nearby. They will hear your request, and respond to it if you ask with sincerity. They respond to feeling. If your heart is willing to open, they will feel this, as they draw near and surround you with their energy. Their energy will make you feel lighter, brighter, more balanced, and happier.

When engaged in your chosen activity remember your request and be open to their influence. This is like watching someone out of the corner of your eye. If you sit and wait for them to inspire you nothing may happen, so start your task, project, activity or relationship, and be open to their subtle influence. Ideas may come to you that you have never had before. You may find the right words to say difficult things. You may find the courage to try something new.

Although you may not be aware of the help and inspiration from the angels, you may feel that you are ‘in the flow’. When things are flowing new ideas will come to you, time will pass quickly, and you will feel good. This is often what the reception of spiritual energy feels like.

Angelic energy can make you feel radiant and bold, but it can also make you feel playful and full of fun. Angels are always there to hold us with love and understanding at times of great suffering and protect us in dangerous situations, but their essential energy is joyful. Allow yourself to ‘play’ with your creative project, whatever it is. Find the spirit of adventure within it, which is so different from the pursuit of success. All creativity brings joy to the creator because through creativity we are in touch with our divine self, the self that loves to make things.

All of us are creative in one way or another, and there are as many ways to be creative as there are human beings. Spiritual beings are constantly sending their energy to us, in order to encourage us to have new thoughts, to create, to invent. Most of the time this influence is subtle, but we can learn to harness this inspiration and work actively with our spiritual helpers. The subtle influence of our guides and angels can inspire us to develop the creativity that is our birthright as human beings and experience the creative flow that makes us feel happier and more fulfilled.
