The Algarve circuit hosted its biggest event of the year with the opening of the MotoGP World Championship, which generated almost 80 million euros in direct economic return for the country and a media worth more than 200 million euros.
With more than 123,000 spectators in the stands throughout the weekend, it was the busiest event on the circuit, alongside the World Superbike, held in October, which brought more than 40,000 spectators to the circuit.
"The events we hosted throughout the year were once again evaluated very positively by the promoters and were once again a preponderant 'lever' for the economy of the region, the Algarve and also Portugal, with an obvious highlight for MotoGP which reached record figures according to the study carried out and which once again proved that the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve is an important economic asset for the country and a vehicle for promoting the Algarve and the country", highlighted Paulo Pinheiro, CEO of Parkalgar.
