Within the framework of the Competition to Support Projects in Creation and Edition, the Directorate-General for the Arts will support 161 projects that have been approved by the Minister of Culture, Dalila Rodrigues, totaling around 4 million euros. However, 176 projects will not receive assistance, even though their submissions met the necessary score of 75 percent.

Out of all the initiatives that have received support, the Lisbon Metropolitan Area accounts for 65 of them, the North 47, the Centre 27, the Alentejo 12, the Algarve 6, the Autonomous Region of Madeira 2, and the Autonomous Region of the Azores 2 as well. The Theatre category includes 79 out of the sponsored projects, almost half of the total number of projects. Following these are the projects related to Disciplinary Crossing (55), Dance (19), Street Arts (4), and Circus (4).


As mentioned by DGArtes, the 161 projects supported with 4.015 million euros in the Competition to Support Projects in Creation and Edition “will be carried out throughout the territory”. The Directorate-General for the Arts (DGArtes) said in a statement that the sponsored candidates have been notified of the competition's final conclusion. Applications for the competition were accepted from 30 October to 13 December of 2023.
