The Portugal Air Summit will take place between 10 and 12 October at the Ponte de Sor Municipal Aerodrome, under the theme ‘Flying 4 Change’.
The event is promoted by the municipality in partnership with the Ponte de Sor Commercial and Industrial Association (ACIPS) and aims to serve as a “debate and innovation” for the sector, bringing together experts, decision-makers and enthusiasts in this area.
In a statement sent to Lusa news agency, the organisation explains that topics such as sustainability, digital transition, strategic vision and investments, regulation and leaders for the future will be discussed during the summit.
The summit will also address topics such as the new Lisbon airport, a multiplier effect on the regional economy AERO.NEXT Portugal: Products and Perspectives or, in the environmental field, a panel on investments in renewable energy in aviation.
The organisation also explains that the first two days will be dedicated to debates on the aeronautical industry, with the third and final day being dedicated to an 'airshow'.
Quoted in the statement, the mayor of Ponte de Sor, Hugo Hilário, states that the aeronautical summit “has established itself” as a “global reference” event, positioning that municipality on the map of aeronautical and aerospace “innovation”.
“This year we are particularly focused on discussing the challenges of sustainability and digital transition, aligned with global priorities. The future of aviation will be greener, more connected and more strategic and our event is the ideal stage to discuss these topics with the greatest experts in the sector”, reads the document.
The organisation also announces that this seventh edition of the Portugal Air Summit will feature exclusive areas for networking and a workshop program focused on the topics that mark the sector.
Over the course of three days, participants will be able to watch the series of conferences, which will also be available live via live streaming on the Portugal Air Summit website.
Visitors will also be able to visit the exhibition pavilion, attend talks on the Ponte de Sor stage on various strategic topics for the municipality, enjoy B2B networking opportunities (contacts between companies) and a series of recreational activities.
After the first two days dedicated to conferences, on Saturday, October 12, the airshow promises to bring “acrobatics, entertainment and colour to the skies” of that Alentejo city to the municipal aerodrome.
