Speaking to Lusa agency, the president of the National Union of Service Workers and Entities with Public Purposes (STTS), Mário Rui, gave the education sector as an example, noting that "schools in Porto are almost all closed".

The union leader said that data is still being collected by region and sector, but that what is already available shows that the education and health sectors are the most affected.

Among the main demands of the STTS is the institution of the meal card in the Public Administration "through negotiation in a Public Employer Collective Agreement (ACEP), for a daily value of 10 euros, tax-free" and the review of unrevised careers.

The union also wants a review of the Integrated Management and Performance Assessment System in Public Administration (SIADAP), as well as the replacement of lost points for career progression purposes.

With regard specifically to the Education sector, he defends the creation of the statute for educational action personnel, while in the health area, they demand the attribution of Risk Subsidy to workers in the National Health Service (SNS) integrated into the career of operational and technical assistant health assistant.
