To this number, the club led by Carlos Moia reveals that there are over 20 thousand participants in the Lisbon Half Marathon, whose registrations were sold out last October, and which shares the starting line, at Ponte 25 de Abril, in Almada.
“Running out so early is a huge incentive for us to continue our work. Lisbon has established itself as a destination of excellence for tourists and athletes, and our events reflect this vitality. We believe in the power of sport to promote a healthy lifestyle,” said Moia.
The Marathon reveals that it expects “almost 16 thousand” foreign athletes of 106 nationalities, among the 32 thousand in the global field.
In 2019, the Lisbon Half Marathon co-founded the international 'superhalfs' circuit, made up of six of the most prestigious half-marathons in Europe, which also includes events in Berlin, Prague, Valencia, Copenhagen and Cardiff.
