Once again, The Algarveans are delighted to welcome new faces with three actors hailing from the other side of the pond.
Trevor Vasey, playing novelist Charles Condomine, nurtured his love of drama and music in New York and has worked both onstage and backstage professionally as carpenter, stage manager and technical director for stage, television and films. His wife Lisa, appearing as Mrs Bradman, has already trodden the boards as a nun in The Algarveans’ popular production of Sister Act. Although Lisa and Trevor met years ago doing theatre, this is their first time performing together which they say makes the experience extra special. Lisa plays wife to Canadian Barry Daley, onstage for the first time in the Algarve and taking the role of Doctor Bradman. All three are working hard to perfect their English accents for Coward’s witty dialogue.

The cast is completed by three familiar faces: Angela Theobold, Tracey Christiansen and Val Lefrere playing Ruth, Elvira and Madame Arcati respectively. They have all worked successfully together several times on productions such as Nunsense and the Little Grimley plays.
Lastly, newcomer, Welsh born Maria Jahn is playing Edith the maid, a small but integral part.
Blithe Spirit is playing at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, Lagoa on 13, 14 and 15 March at 7:30 pm. Tickets at €12 available soon from BOL.PT or Auditório Carlos do Carmo, Convento de S. José in Lagoa and at Município de Lagoa - Balcao Único. Tickets are also available at Worten and FNAC shops or their online websites.
