Bright’s commitment to organising enriching trips plays a crucial role in broadening students’ horizons beyond the classroom. These experiences not only reinforce academic learning but also encourage critical thinking, teamwork and a deeper understanding of the world around them. By exposing students to real-world applications of science, technology, and environmental awareness, the school ensures they develop valuable skills that will benefit them in their future endeavours.

The trip was packed with hands-on learning, thrilling discoveries and moments of pure wonder as students explored two of the city's most dynamic institutions: Pavilhão do Conhecimento – Ciência Viva and the Lisbon Oceanarium.

The day kicked off at the Pavilhão do Conhecimento, a paradise for young scientists and curious minds. Year 5 and Year 6 students dived into the world of electricity through the interactive workshop Insectos Eléctricos, where they experimented with circuits in a fun and engaging way. Afterwards, they had free time to explore the exhibition areas, getting hands-on with Tcharan! Circo de Experiências and A Ciência da PIXAR, where animation and science merged to create a captivating experience.

Meanwhile, the older students from Year 7 to Year 9 ventured into immersive exhibits like Explora and A Ciência da PIXAR, sparking discussions about the science behind everyday phenomena. This was followed by two innovative workshops: Tecno Lab, where they delved into futuristic technology, and Explorar a “Fungo”, a kitchen-based experiment that turned biology into a hands-on culinary experience.

After a well-earned lunch, the excitement continued as students made their way to the Lisbon Oceanarium, home to one of the most diverse marine ecosystems in Europe. Year 5 and Year 6 students took part in Um Problema Profundo, an eye-opening atelier that shed light on ocean conservation. At the same time, the older students took on Grau a Grau, Aventura em Ebulição, an adventure that explored climate change and its effects on marine life.
