There is a new German brand expanding strongly in Portugal, with a varied offering and prices that directly compete with the giants in the sector. The company is TEDi and it has just opened another store, this time in the city of Fátima.
The brand's most recent opening took place on 25 April at Avenida Irmã Lúcia de Jesus, number 66. The space, with approximately 600 square meters, becomes the 22nd TEDi store in Portugal, according to NiT.
Fátima now joins a growing list of Portuguese cities with a TEDi store, such as Vila Nova de Gaia, Estarreja and Montijo, which have recently received their own spaces.
Although it is often compared to IKEA, TEDi has a different concept. The brand focuses mainly on smaller and more practical products, designed for immediate use and specific needs. The blue and yellow logo may be reminiscent of the Swedish giant, but the shopping experience is distinct. Instead of large unassembled pieces of furniture, TEDi focuses on simplicity, easy access and reduced price
Blue and yellow? It's a completely different blue and yellow to ikea, no comparison. What's more, the range is more comparable to the many Chinese stores. So, no big news, except that The Portugal News gets a lot of public relation benefits

Looks like Portugal is being colonized by Europe and the rest of the world. In short time, it won't have any distinctive character left in terms of any aspect of culture or economy. But that's the problem when you sign on to the EU monolith. At least the Scandinavians and the British kept their old currency out of some sense of pride. The Portuguese however, along with the rest of the subservient Latin countries, made a pact with the devil and abandoned their identities completely.

Tedi is more of an arts and crafts store. I would never compare it to Ikea.
