She held a Master's Degree from Michigan State University, retired from 25 years of teaching at Grand Rapids Community College, where she was in charge of their Secretarial Programme, and she published articles in several trade magazines.
She was a long-time resident of the Dunas de Lagos neighborhood, having first purchased property there when the Escudo was still the national currency. She had been active in the Lady’s Luncheon Group, the Nandi Charity, and was a member of the Algarve Archaeology Association.
In 2023, she became a resident of the Casa do Repouso care facility in Alvor. She was a loving mother and a devoted wife, and much beloved. She is survived by her husband William, her daughter Jacqueline, and her son Charles.
She was 81 years old.
