The new methodology for bookings includes “notification to citizens and/or their representatives”, according to a statement from the SEF.
"Like what was done for expressions of interest on the SAPA Portal (Automatic Pre-Scheduling System), SEF began contacting citizens with appointments for the ARI grant by chronological order of date of payment of the analysis fee and respective application status, until the first quarter of 2020, thus allowing for the availability of an agenda for all investors in a more transparent, balanced and fair manner”, states the note.
In October, the ARI program celebrated nine years of existence, the month in which it surpassed 6,000 million euros raised through this instrument, according to data from SEF.
This of course begs the question as to what order the applications were dealt with previously...?

And how is this news? Weren’t they always processed in chronological order? The issue is the inexplicably long processing delays and lack of transparency into procedures and processing times. Golden visas are currently taking over a year to approve. No one at SEF will answer the phone or respond to email enquiries.

Considering SEF are supposed to be in the process of being disbanded, when are they going to start processing the post Brexit Biometric cards for, ex UK, Portuguese residents??
