In response to questions from the deputies, the official said that, on the Algarve line, the Faro - Vila Real de Santo António electrification, "work is in progress".
With regard to the electrification between Tunes and Lagos, "the work has been awarded and its consignment is scheduled for June [20] 22", he added.
"We will have the entire Algarve line electrified by 2024", underlined Pedro Nuno Santos.
Despite the delays, he said, "work is being done on the national rail network as never before."
