In the PS's electoral program for the legislative elections of 18 May, presented in Lisbon, the party says it wants to “celebrate a new agreement to increase wages in terms of social dialogue, with more ambitious goals in the trajectory of the national minimum wage and the average wage”.
The PS wants in particular to “increase the minimum wage by at least 60 euros per year, reaching an increase of at least 240 euros to 1,110 in 2029”, corresponding to the year in which the legislature would end.
Regarding the average salary, the party proposes an increase “of at least 5% per year, reaching at least €2,000 in 2029”.
Still in the work sector, the PS also promises to “propose and discuss in the context of social dialogue a package of measures to promote conciliation and support parenthood”.
These measures include “phasing in a reduction of the working week from 40 to 37.5 hours for all workers, in terms and conditions to be discussed with social partners and taking into account the evolution of the economic situation and the assessment of the impact on different sectors”.
More inflationary silliness from socialist crackpots who imagine that societies can print their way to prosperity.
