According to Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP), trains in the
Union of Parishes of Valença, Cristelo Côvo and Arão, in the municipality of
Valença, district of Viana do Castelo, were interrupted on Sunday, at around
13:00, after a landslide which occurred during the morning.
“Earth removal work, at kilometre 130,760 of the Minho Line,
was completed at 00:10. The normal circulation of trains on the Minho Line,
between Valença and Tui, has been re-established”, IP said.
During the suspension of rail traffic, CP -
Comboios de Portugal provided road transfers to passengers travelling between
the cities of Porto and Vigo, or in the opposite direction.
