Portugal has few options and activities for the retired aged population and it has been proven that lawn bowls helps prevent Alzheimer's, which is a large concern for the citizens of Portugal. Alvor Bowls Club would like to grow the game for all its benefits.

Alvor Bowls Club is holding an open day on Sunday 26th May, for people to come and try lawn bowls. It is an activity suitable for all ages and whilst many think of it as a British sport it is fully international. The only thing you need on the day is flat-soled shoes, there is no other dress code. The club will provide equipment and tuition free of charge and refreshments will be available at a modest charge. The day will run from 11am until 3pm. You will get a warm welcome and an opportunity to make new friends.
