Workers demand a minimum salary increase of 80 euros and an update to the meal allowance to 9.60 euros, despite the company offering 7.30 euros.
A source from the transport company told Lusa that the TST already applied, last April, with a retroactive effect to January, a salary increase of 5.89%, and that “there are no financial conditions to meet the demands of the workers, not even regarding the salary increase of 80 euros nor regarding the update of the meal allowance to 9.60 euros”.
In an internal communication to which the Lusa agency had access, TST rightly claims that it “does not have the financial availability to pay more than the 60 euros it has already given to the vast majority of workers”, but says it is “available to pay the 60 euros of minimum increase, retroactive to January 2024, for all workers who did not reach this value with the 5.89% increase”.
If there is no progress in the TST proposal in the coming days, the unions will go ahead with two more days of strike, on the 5th and 25th of July.
According to Sara Gligó, from the Federation of Transport and Communications Unions (Fectrans), the unions will be able to call a new plenary of workers, at the latest during the strike on the 5th of July.
