The district of Castelo Branco will have a maximum temperature of 38 degrees, Portalegre 37, Faro and Santarém 35, Bragança 34, and Guarda and Viseu 32.
The IPMA also placed around 50 municipalities in the districts of Bragança, Vila Real, Viseu, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Santarém, Portalegre, Beja and Faro at very high risk of fire.
According to IPMA calculations, the fire danger will remain high in some districts at least until Tuesday.
This risk, determined by IPMA, has five levels, ranging from low to maximum and calculations are obtained from air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.
Due to the heat, IPMA issued a yellow warning for the districts of Bragança, Évora, Guarda, Faro, Setúbal, Beja, Castelo Branco and Portalegre until 6pm today.
The yellow warning, the least serious on a scale of three, is issued by IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the meteorological situation.
The IPMA predicts cloudy or clear skies for today on the continent, with periods of heavy cloudiness on the North and Central coasts and with mist or mist in some places and more intense wind during the afternoon on the west coast of the southern region.
The forecast also points to a small increase in the minimum and maximum temperature (in the Algarve).
Minimum temperatures will range between 14 degrees Celsius (in Leiria) and 24 (in Faro) and maximum temperatures between 24 (in Aveiro and Viana do Castelo) and 40 (in Évora and Beja).
