Just four years since the school’s inauguration, the first IB Diploma Programme candidates have achieved an impressive set of results. The students have achieved an average result well above the global average of 30.3 with some achieving the highly coveted 40 points and above. Overall, they achieved a 100% pass rate on the Core.

Chitra Stern, founder and board member expressed her pride, “We are incredibly proud of our pioneering cohort! All students who completed their exams in May have exemplified dedication and perseverance throughout their academic journey with us.”

Now, these graduates are heading off on the next part of their educational journey with offers from some of the world's most prestigious universities. In the USA, they have been accepted to Duke, UPenn, Georgia Tech and Brown. In the UK, they received offers from King's College London, Birkbeck, Manchester University, Cardiff University, Exeter University, Loughborough University, St. Andrews and Edinburgh University. In the rest of Europe, notable acceptances include Catolica Lisbon School of Business and Economics (Portugal), IE (Madrid), University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), and EHL Hospitality Business School (Switzerland).

Founded by Chitra and Roman Stern in September 2020, United Lisbon International School offers K-12 international education with an innovative approach and world-class facilities in Lisbon Oriente close to Parque das Nações and right at the heart of the emerging “technology district” in Lisbon. With founding principles centred on Technology, Global Citizenship, Entrepreneurship, Arts and Sports, the student body has over 50 nationalities represented. ULIS was the first international school to partner with the Dukes Education Group outside of the United Kingdom. That first step into Europe with ULIS was the catalyst for further growth in Europe soon after – Dukes has since acquired other schools in Portugal, Switzerland, Ireland, Spain and in Central Europe

Four years on, ULIS is now expanding its successful operations into further buildings which the Sterns acquired in 2018 – in renovation and development are a further 7,300 sqm of classrooms, lounges, science laboratories, maker space, sports facilities and a brand new 250-seater auditorium, all to be opened later this year. A further 1,000 sqm of outdoor sports areas will be added to the already existing 6,500 sqm of outdoor play and sports areas. These new facilities will help double the areas existing in the current school, making this one of the largest urban international schools in the Lisbon area.
