In the quick estimate of international trade, INE points out, however, that these variations “reflect, to a large extent, significant increases in transactions of goods with a view to or following custom work, without changing ownership”.
This is the second consecutive quarterly increase in merchandise transactions, following a period of four consecutive quarters of declines in both exports and imports.
In the previous quarter, from April to June, exports had registered an annual variation of 2.9%, while imports had increased 0.8%.
