In an interview with ECO, Manuel Santiago said: “We want to replicate in Portugal what we are doing in Spain. Automatic gas stations offer the same fuel at a lower price. We are able to guarantee the lowest prices due to efficiency, they are small gas stations that do not have stores — with this system we reduce costs and give customers lower prices”.

The leader of the fuel brand also highlights that “compared to Repsol, Galp or BP, Petroprix offers discounts of ten cents per litre”. At the stations in Covilhã and Águeda, the operator from the neighbouring country says it is selling simple diesel at 1.479 per litre and simple petrol at 1.559 per litre.

Next year, the company plans to open 20 new petrol stations in Portugal, which represents an investment of ten million euros. The CEO reveals that the next units will be in Porto and Lisbon, as well as in cities close to them, or in Coimbra. Manuel Santiago estimates that each gas station will cost between 400 and 500 thousand euros, depending on the size, and the manager guarantees that the Algarve will also have Petroprix stations, but only in 2026.

The leader of this network of automatic gas stations, which purchases fuel in Portugal, guarantees that entry into the country is “going very well”. “Portuguese customers look for the lowest prices, especially because fuel in Portugal can be more expensive than in Spain due to taxes”.
