The tournament attracted another bumper entry, with a field of 40 mainly UK based bowlers competing in the drawn doubles competition. Partners were drawn on a daily basis with the pairs playing in group round robin matches to determine daily results. At the end of the Tournament, Geoff Coleman (Whitby) emerged as the popular winner. The competitors enjoyed both the bowling and the social side of the Tournament and those from the UK enjoyed the Alvor weather. The 2025 Tournament will run from 3rd to 7th November and entry details are available on the Club website.

There was no competition bowling on Wednesday when the club hosted the inaugural Top Block Challenge Cup. This challenge aims to promote greater awareness of mental health issues. The challenge came from a number of the visiting bowlers and involved games of both crown green and lawn bowls. The local team enjoyed a win this year and will hold the trophy until the challenge takes place again in 2025.

Alvor Bowls Club welcomes visitors and new members playing both flat green and crown green bowls and full details can be found on the website. Tuition and equipment can be provided for new bowlers. Crown green bowls takes place at the Club every Tuesday afternoon.
