“As a measure to support the New Year's Eve festivities in the city of Lisbon, during the early hours of January 1st (December 31st to January 1st), Metropolitano de Lisboa will extend the operating service until 3am on the Blue and Green lines, keeping several stations open”, said the company, in a statement.
According to the Lisbon metro, the Reboleira, Amadora Este, Pontinha, Colégio Militar/Luz, Jardim Zoológico, São Sebastião, Marquês de Pombal, Restauradores and Baixa Chiado stations will be open until 3am, on the Blue Line.
The stations of Telheiras, Campo Grande, Areeiro, Alameda, Anjos, Rossio, Baixa-Chiado and Cais do Sodré will be operating on the Green Line.
The Metropolitano de Lisboa also indicated that due to the celebrations in Praça do Comércio, Terreiro do Paço station will close at 5:00 pm on December 31st (Tuesday), reopening at 6:30 am on January 1st (Wednesday).
“As an alternative to the Terreiro do Paço station, the Cais do Sodré or Baixa-Chiado stations (Blue and Green Lines) can be used, which will remain open uninterruptedly until 3 am on the first day of the year”, he added.
