“A delegation from the Air France-KLM Group, made up in particular of its sustainability teams, visited Lisbon in recent days,” an official source from the group told the newspaper.
The delegation “met with various stakeholders to discuss possible opportunities for cooperation and partnership in the area of sustainability and, more specifically, in Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), of which Air France-KLM is the largest worldwide buyer and user”.
Air France-KLM is one of three aviation groups that have already publicly declared an interest in privatisation, along with Lufthansa and IAG (owner of British Airways, Iberia and others).
According to Expresso, the Franco-Dutch company did not meet with the government this time, unlike what happened in October. CEO Benjamin Smith reiterated his interest in privatising TAP during the last results presentation and confirmed to the government that he was “available to purchase a majority or minority stake”.
The Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, Miguel Pinto Luz, reaffirmed in an interview with TSF and JN that the government intends to approve the relaunch of privatisation by the end of March.
