Approved under the Interreg Europe programme with nearly 2 million euros in funding for 36 months, the initiative aims to significantly enhance energy efficiency, reduce emissions and pollution, boost electric mobility, and improve sustainable urban policies.

The project is aligned with Europe’s green agenda, with a strong focus on energy efficiency. It involves installing adaptive sensors and advanced technologies on existing streetlights. These include dimmable LED lamps, air quality and noise sensors, charges for electric vehicles and e-bikes, and traffic counters.

The innovations, integrated into a network of technological devices, will allow dynamic lighting adjustments that conserve energy. They will also enable efficient traffic and environment monitoring, support data-driven urban management policies, enhance traffic management, and reduce noise and pollution. Additionally, the project will expand the charging infrastructure for electric mobility.

In collaboration with CIM of the Coimbra Region, the RESONANCE project involves eight other partners, all working together to share best practices and knowledge in promoting sustainable solutions.
