On Saturday, the Obstetrics and Gynecology emergency departments at Garcia de Orta Hospital, in Almada, Fernando Fonseca Hospital (Amadora-Sintra), Nossa Senhora do Rosário Hospital, in Barreiro, and Santo André Hospital, in Leiria, will be closed.

According to the SNS, the Obstetrics and Gynecology emergency service at the Amadora-Sintra Hospital will reopen on Sunday, with the emergency departments at the other three hospitals remaining closed.

During the weekend, the pediatric emergency services at the Nossa Senhora do Rosário Hospital, the Beatriz Ângelo Hospital in Loures, and the Vila Franca de Xira Hospital will be closed.

The pediatric emergency department at Hospital Amadora-Sintra will be open on both days, between midnight and 8 am, and between 8 pm and midnight, receiving only internal emergency cases or those referred by the Urgent Patient Guidance Center of the National Institute of Medical Emergencies (INEM) or by the SNS 24 line.

The Gynecology and Obstetrics Emergency Department at Hospital São Bernardo, in Setúbal, will only receive women referred by INEM.

In total, 130 emergency rooms will be open on Saturday, 29 will be open as part of the pilot project that requires users to call the SNS 24 Line before going to the hospital, two will be referenced and seven will be closed.

On Sunday, the scales updated by the hospitals foresee the opening of 130 emergency rooms. Thirty will be open as part of the pilot project, two will be referenced and six will be closed.

The National Health Service portal urges users to contact the SNS 24 line (800 24 24 24) before going to the emergency room.
