The PT2030 tenders cover a wide range of areas, from job creation incentives to nature conservation, according to a statement from the office of the Adjunto e da Coesão Territorial. The largest share of funding, about €151 million, will support productive innovation in low-density areas. Another €20 million is earmarked for nature conservation areas.

As for the PRR, the 800 contracts to be signed between April and May are valued at nearly €160 million. Key areas of investment include Housing (€68 million), Business Capitalisation and Innovation (€26 million), More Efficient Public Administration (€44 million), and Social Support Services (€74 million).

Municipalities will receive the majority of this funding: €111 million across 294 contracts. Companies are set to benefit from €21 million through 63 contracts, while the national scientific and technological systems will receive €9.4 million across 96 contracts. Another 105 contracts, worth €8.8 million, will be signed with private social solidarity institutions.

Minister Castro Almeida emphasised that the government, even in a caretaker role, remains committed to accelerating the execution of EU funds.

Meanwhile, IAPMEI – the Agência para a Competitividade e Inovação – has begun the reprogramming of Agendas Mobilizadoras to align projects with new PRR opportunities. This follows Brussels’ recent approval of the revised PRR, which includes an extended deadline of 30 June 2026, to ensure efficient investment implementation.
