According to a statement released by Cruelty-Free, Portugal increased animal testing from 20,000 in 2015 to 52,000 in 2017.
The UK topped the list, conducting more than 2.5 million tests on animals in 2017.
Mice topped the list in terms of testing, while there were more than 350,000 tests on rabbits and a further 13,000 on dogs.

This is disgraceful. Animal testing is not only extremely cruel and barbaric but completely pointless, as the only animal who will react in the same way to all the same things as humans is other humans.
