According to an annual report from the Portuguese Music Federation, music that was downloaded accounted for 45 percent of all revenue, while records and albums represented 39 percent of receipts for a total income of just under 18 million euros.


Globally , music sales last year generated 13 billion euros, an increase of 3.2 percent on 2014, and was the first time growth in the music industry has been reported since the pre-Internet days of the 1990s.
