“A huge majority of people are against these strikes”, the representative of the Metro users’ movement, Aristides Teixeira, told Lusa.
Although he says the right to strike is not being called into question, Aristides Teixeira said that public transport strikes “only harm the passengers and benefit the management, and that is turning strikes on their head”.
This is going to be the seventh metro strike this year against the sub-concession of the company and the probable lay-offs that will follow.
