According to Sapo news, Spain, Portugal and Morocco are working on a possible joint bid for the 2035 Women's World Cup, the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Rafael Louzán revealed.

"What better way to give visibility to women's sport than with the contribution of the most important global sports leader there is, a football World Cup. We are working on that," said Louzán.

The president of the RFEF was speaking during the presentation of a study on equality at the King Juan Carlos University in Madrid.

The three countries will now jointly organise the 2030 Men's World Cup, in a tournament that will also feature games in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay, in celebration of the centenary of the tournament, which was held for the first time in Uruguayan territory in 1930, with victory for the home team.

Portugal will host its second major tournament, after hosting Euro2004, while for Spain this will be its second World Cup, after hosting the 1982 edition, won by Italy.
