Slide & Splash water park, located in Lagoa in the Algarve, reopened its doors on April 12th for the 2022 season. The company's management told Publituris that, "after two turbulent years, it hopes to return to normal operation of the park, fulfilling the usual seven-month schedule, until the end of October."
The company estimates "an excellent 2022 season, expecting to reach the usual 340,000 visitors per year from the pre-pandemic period. Prominent markets have remained, the Portuguese and those from the UK, with French-speaking, Spanish, Brazilian, and North American tourist numbers increasing."
Alongside the nearly 20 water rides in the park, there are also shows featuring birds of prey and macaws, a massage and fish-spa centre, six food outlets, and a souvenir shop.
However, Slide & Splash reveals that it will soon begin a new phase in its history: its expansion. "After refurbishing most of the amusements over the past seven years, the park will begin the first phase of an ambitious project that will occupy a new area with a total of six hectares."
Slide & Splash opened 36 years ago, making it the longest-running theme park in the Algarve.
