The average of the last seven days is now at seven infections per million inhabitants.
Since the arrival of the disease in Portugal, in May this year, over 400 infections have been diagnosed.
Virologist Pedro Simas said the number “is not normal, taking into
account the mode of transmission and the virulence of monkeypox”.
Perhaps if you mention in your article that most of the transmissions are causes by intimate sex between men we can protect our vulnerable communities by informing those people to be careful and tell them what to look out for on their bodies.
