A source from the Azores Regional Civil Protection and Fire
Service told Lusa that the rains did not cause any victims or displaced people.
This source explained that due to heavy rain in the
municipality of Praia da Vitória, in the early evening, "two houses and
three roads were flooded, and a landslide was also recorded and a stream ran
into the road".
The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA)
has placed the nine islands of the Azores under yellow warning until 12:00
today due to forecasts of rain, sometimes heavy, which may be accompanied by
thunderstorms.
