Several CTT branches in the city of Porto were on Tuesday
without money to pay the pensions to pensioners. The company admitted to Correio
da Manhã that there had been issues but assured that the situation should
return to normal on Thursday (12 October).
A pensioner in her 60s told CM that she tried to have her
pension paid to her at three CTT post offices in the city (Eça de Queirós,
Marquês de Pombal and Bonfim), but always had the same answer: "There is
no money!".
Questioned by the CM, CTT's official source said that
"sporadic and unexpected constraints were observed in the availability of
payment of subsidies at some CTT branches, and the company is promptly
resolving the situation, which will be normalised on Thursday".
"CTT regrets any disturbance that may have caused its
customers and appreciates the understanding of customers".
