According to Postal newspaper, After not having been held in 2020, 2021 and 2022, the Municipality of Albufeira has brought back Feira Franca, one of the most appreciated events by residents and tourists.
The fair moved from the "location next to the bus terminal to a new space next to the Marina, a place that throughout the summer hosted hugely successful events, in an area with good infrastructure, accessibility and parking", explains the municipality in a statement.
It is one of the most traditional fairs, where clothes, footwear, household items and toys are sold. There will be entertainment such as carousels and bumper cars, to the delight of children and adults. There will also be 'farturas', churros, cotton candy, snacks, honey, nuts and other regional products, which visitors can take advantage of purchasing them at lower prices.
The Mayor of Albufeira, José Carlos Rolo, told Postal newspaper that Feira Franca attracts thousands of visitors every year and takes the opportunity to recall that "the first Feira Franca de Albufeira was held in the seventeenth century, in the square of the Church of São Sebastião, being very popular because it exempted the fairgoers from taxes".
