Access roads to the highest point of Serra da Estrela reopened early this afternoon, according to a source from Civil Protection.

The reopening of National Road (EN) 339 in the central massif occurred around 2:20 pm.
“There are now unrestricted movements between Piornos and Torre and from Torre to Lagoa Comprida”, indicated a source from the Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of Beiras and Serra da Estrela.
This road had been closed since 1:30 pm on Monday due to snowfall.
