Applications are open until 24 April for SMEs (Small and medium-sized enterprises). The initiative, managed by the Algarve Regional Development Coordination Commission (CCDR), funds individual or collaborative Research and Development (R&D) projects with non-business entities in the Research and Innovation System.

According to CCDR Algarve, the notice MPr-2025-04 “SIID-Corporate R&D – individual and co-promotion operations” is designed to support research and development projects carried out either individually, by businesses, or in collaboration with other companies and non-business entities within the Research and Innovation System (ENESII).

The programme will provide funding for operations that focus on industrial research and experimental development. Projects must aim at creating new products, processes, or services or introducing significant improvements to existing ones.

Support can cover up to 80 percent of project costs, with 3.5 million euros allocated for co-promotion projects and 1.5 million euros for individual projects. As CCDR/Algarve stated, “Project must be aligned with the priority areas of the Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation (RIS3)” emphasising the importance of ensuring that the funded initiatives contribute to the region’s strategic innovation goals.
