Although he did not achieve a place on the podium, his work was widely recognised for its creativity, technical execution and for the profound message conveyed.

"In this edition, I presented the triptych Eternal Flow, dedicated to the brevity of life and the impact of climate change. Life, as well as the environment that sustains it, is constantly changing, escaping or eroding ourselves. The natural equilibrium is, by our influence, shaken, accelerating changes that are out of our control. Species become extinct and landscapes dissolve. What we had as a guarantee now it is increasingly fragile and ephemeral." – Rodrigo Ferreira.

In Eternal Flow, with 400x600x600 cm in size, 13.6 tons of ice over six days, in a total of 111 hours allowed for the execution of this work.

"A thank you to the team I formed and led to be able to carry out a job of this dimension: Hank Scheel (USA), Sarah Blostein (Canada) and Alan Silva (Philippines)." – Rodrigo Ferreira. Leap of Faith, the second work of the Eternal Flow triptych, which he co-authored with Thomas Brown (New York) in the Double Block category, reflected on the brevity of life and fragility of our planet.

"Ice, like the time that is pressing, melts — a note on the climate urgency in which Live. Art can disappear, but the message has to remain." – Rodrigo Ferreira.

"Ice sculpture is an ephemeral art that I embraced out of environmental awareness, because the materials that I use can be reused, reducing the environmental impact. Each work tells a story that I want to see echo beyond the exposure time. I returned to the World Championships with so much joy. More than an opportunity to compete, it was a moment to share my passion for ice sculpting. I am honored to have represented Portugal and to share this experience with the inspiring global community of sculptors, which I have the privilege of making part." – Rodrigo Ferreira.

The competitions took place between February 14 and March 2 and brought together artists from several countries, such as the Philippines, Canada, Germany, France, Thailand and the United States of America, each bringing their own unique vision and techniques to the ice. Even without a medal, Rodrigo Ferreira's participation reaffirms his status as one of the leading names in sculpture on ice, taking Portuguese talent to a highly prestigious international circuit.
