Under this initiative, Azores residents will benefit from a 10% discount on round-trip fares to the mainland.

For instance, a resident currently paying €134 for a round trip to the continent will only pay €119, and students will also see lower fares, dropping from €99 to €89 round trip. Additionally, those travelling between the Azores and Madeira will enjoy a 33% discount on round-trip flights. One example is the new route between Ponta Delgada and Faro, which sells round-trip tickets for €77, but Azores residents will now be able to visit the Algarve for under €70. The new measure also includes a reimbursement policy: if the total cost of the flights exceeds €134, the government will reimburse the difference, provided the ticket price does not exceed €600.

This initiative is intended to make travel more accessible for Azorean residents.
