Previously, bar services were available on Alfa Pendular trains running between Lisbon and Braga, Porto and Faro, and on the Intercidades trains linking Lisbon to Porto, Faro and Guarda. With this expansion, passengers on the Lisbon-Évora will also have access to onboard bar services.
One of the highlights of the new concession is the introduction of a broader range of products available to passengers. Additionally, the frequency of the minibar services on Alfa Pendular trains has doubled – it will now be offered twice per direction and per carriage, enhancing onboard service and providing passengers with more convenient access to food and drinks during their journey.
According to CP, these improvements aim to deliver a more comfortable travel experience, with a focus on quality and service efficiency. The addition of new routes and increased minibar frequency reflect the company’s commitment to enhancing passenger satisfaction.
This initiative marks a step forward in modernising onboard services across CP’s long-distance network and highlights a renewed investment in passenger comfort and service quality. With ITAU now managing the operation, travellers can expect an improved and more consistent experience across many routes in Portugal
I live in Leiria, and while bar services are good, investment in wheelchair accessible services other than alfa-pendulo should be prioritised!!
