Last year the PSP destroyed a total of 26,192 weapons in nine lots, among them over 21,000 guns and more than 4,000 knives. The weapons seized which are not destroyed are reused for the police’s operational activity and training or are sent to other security forces, such as the PJ police or the military. Other weapons are exhibited in museums or sold at auction.
