According to the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR), Public Security Police (PSP), and the National Republican Guard (GNR), 4.5 million people were inspected in person between April 5th and 11th, with security forces detecting 29,532 violations.
Throughout the week of the campaign, there were 2,543 accidents, resulting in six fatalities, 47 serious injuries, and 750 minor injuries.
Compared to the same period in 2023, there were 44 fewer accidents, 10 fewer fatalities, 9 fewer serious injuries, and 54 fewer minor injuries.
According to the note, the six fatal victims, four men and two women, were aged between 46 and 75 years old.
Accidents with fatalities occurred in the districts of Bragança, Porto (two), Castelo Branco, and Lisbon.
As part of the national campaign, which aimed to alert drivers and passengers to the importance of always using safety devices correctly, the security forces carried out five awareness-raising actions with 671 drivers and passengers.
This was the fourth of 12 awareness and inspection campaigns planned under the 2024 National Inspection Plan (PNF).
Eight more campaigns will be carried out by the end of the year, one per month, with awareness-raising and inspection actions.
I call total BS on this..." 4.5 million inspected ".... Half of the entire country's population....in how many short days ?.....by how few officers?

Yes I think something was lost in the translation. 10 fewer fatalities than 6.....maybe 4 babies were born while driving.
