Worten is looking for graduates or postgraduates of master's degrees and recent graduates for the 50 internship positions that have just opened. In an interview with ECO, the head of people, Inês de Castro, explains that those selected will be entitled to internship grants, to which a meal allowance will be added.

“In Worten’s internships, we are essentially looking for curious, creative young people who like technology and who identify with the retail sector, and who may have an academic background in a wide range of areas: management, engineering, IT, marketing and many others”, highlights the manager, who details that the aforementioned 50 vacancies concern different departments, from communications to financial services, including operations.

Applications are open until April 26, and the internships — which will take place in Azambuja, Carnaxide and Matosinhos (in a hybrid model) — will begin in September. They will last 12 months.

“In addition to the hybrid work model and initial and ongoing training, trainees will be supported by a supervisor throughout the entire work plan designed, in a more formal component, and also by a buddy, who can help them with more informal day-to-day issues,” highlights Worten, in a statement.

During the internship, those selected will also have the opportunity to carry out an innovation project together with interns from other business areas and the possibility of joining the company after the end of the program.

“Since the program was launched in 2019, the results have been very positive. We know that given the pace the market is going, there is a widespread challenge in attracting and selecting the best talent in the most varied areas. In 2024, we had more than 1,980 applications and the collaboration of approximately 360 young people in our different internship modalities,” says Inês de Castro.

According to the person in charge, this internship program is already “the main source of attraction and retention of young talent at Worten”, with an average retention rate after the internship of 59%. “This means that many of these young people stay on to work at the company after their internship,” concludes the head of people.
